Digital Archiving Policy
Digital Archiving & Preservation Policy
Journal of Management, Economics, and Accounting Research (JoMEAR) is committed to maintaining the long-term availability, accessibility, integrity, and preservation of its published scholarly content.
1. Digital Preservation Policy
Journal of Management, Economics, and Accounting Research (JoMEAR) recognizes digital preservation as an essential component of responsible scholarly publishing. The journal is committed to maintaining access to published articles and associated scholarly records over the long term, including in circumstances where the journal website or publisher's primary publishing platform becomes unavailable.
The journal therefore maintains a digital preservation strategy that combines the Open Journal Systems (OJS) publishing infrastructure, routine publisher-managed backups, persistent identifiers, and participation in appropriate external preservation services.
2. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
JoMEAR uses Open Journal Systems (OJS) and supports preservation through the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN), subject to successful activation, eligibility, and deposit status within the PKP PN service.
PKP PN is a distributed digital preservation network designed for journals using Open Journal Systems. Its preservation infrastructure is based on LOCKSS technology and is intended to preserve scholarly journal content independently from the journal's primary web server.
The purpose of this preservation mechanism is to ensure that preserved scholarly content can remain available for long-term scholarly access even if the journal's original publishing platform becomes unavailable.
3. Backup and Content Integrity
In addition to external preservation arrangements, the publisher maintains operational backups of the journal's digital publishing environment. These measures are intended to reduce the risk of data loss and support restoration of journal content when technical failures occur.
OJS publication and metadata records.
Article files and related publication assets.
Relevant journal configuration and web resources.
4. Self-Archiving Policy
JoMEAR permits authors to self-archive their scholarly work without an embargo period, subject to the journal's copyright and open-access licensing terms.
Authors may archive the manuscript version originally submitted to JoMEAR in an appropriate institutional, subject, or open-access repository.
Authors may archive the accepted manuscript after completion of the peer-review and editorial process.
Authors may immediately archive and distribute the final published Version of Record without an embargo period, in accordance with the applicable open-access licence.
When depositing the published Version of Record, authors should acknowledge Journal of Management, Economics, and Accounting Research (JoMEAR) as the original place of publication and include the article DOI together with a link to the official journal version whenever available.
5. Permitted Archiving Locations
Authors may deposit permitted versions of their articles in appropriate scholarly repositories and academic platforms, including:
6. Persistent Identifiers and Metadata
JoMEAR assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to published articles where applicable. Persistent identifiers and article metadata support long-term discovery, citation, linking, interoperability, and access to the scholarly record. Authors depositing published articles in external repositories are encouraged to retain the original DOI and bibliographic citation.
7. Preservation and Continuity Commitment
The journal and its publisher are committed to protecting the scholarly record. Digital preservation arrangements are intended to support continued access to published content in the event of technical failure, migration to another publishing platform, interruption of journal operations, or discontinuation of the journal or publisher.
