Plagiarism Screening Policy
Commitment to Academic Integrity and Ethical Publishing

Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam (JURPAI) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are screened using Turnitin Plagiarism Detection Software before entering the peer-review process.

Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical citation practices will be immediately rejected by the editorial office.

Plagiarism Screening Procedure
  • All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin.
  • The editorial team evaluates similarity reports before peer review.
  • Suspected plagiarism cases are reviewed individually.
  • Authors may be asked to revise manuscripts with inappropriate similarities.
  • Serious plagiarism cases will result in immediate rejection.
What Constitutes Plagiarism?
Plagiarism occurs when authors use ideas, information, data, interpretations, or words from another source without providing proper acknowledgment. Whether intentional or unintentional, plagiarism is considered a serious violation of academic ethics and publication standards.
Citation Requirements
Authors are required to provide citations when:
  • Using factual information obtained from a specific source.
  • Adopting theories, concepts, interpretations, or ideas developed by other researchers.
  • Referring to methodologies, analytical approaches, or research frameworks from previous studies.
  • Using data, statistics, figures, tables, or illustrations published elsewhere.
Direct Quotations
When authors reproduce four or more consecutive words from another source, quotation marks and a proper citation must be provided. Citation alone is insufficient for direct textual reproduction. All direct quotations must clearly identify the original source.
Self-Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication
Authors must not submit manuscripts that substantially overlap with previously published works, including their own publications, unless appropriately cited and justified. Duplicate submissions to multiple journals simultaneously are considered unethical and are strictly prohibited.
Editorial Action
The editorial team reserves the right to reject manuscripts, withdraw acceptance decisions, publish corrections, issue retractions, or take other necessary actions when violations of publication ethics are identified. All investigations are conducted in accordance with internationally recognized ethical publishing standards.
