Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Ethical Standards for Authors, Editors, Reviewers, and Publisher

Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam (JURPAI) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. This statement is based on the principles and Best Practice Guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, editorial staff, and the publisher.

COPE Compliance
The journal follows the ethical guidelines and recommendations issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure fairness, transparency, accountability, and integrity throughout the publication process.
Allegations of Research Misconduct
Research misconduct includes but is not limited to:
  • Fabrication of research data
  • Falsification of findings
  • Citation manipulation
  • Plagiarism
  • Duplicate publication
  • Peer-review manipulation
Suspected misconduct will be investigated following COPE procedures. Manuscripts found to contain misconduct may be rejected, corrected, retracted, or removed from the publication record when necessary.
Responsibilities of Editors
  • Make publication decisions based on academic merit.
  • Ensure fair and unbiased manuscript evaluation.
  • Maintain confidentiality throughout the editorial process.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
  • Provide objective and constructive reviews.
  • Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts.
  • Identify uncited relevant literature.
  • Report potential plagiarism or ethical concerns.
  • Avoid reviewing manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
Responsibilities of Authors
  • Submit original and unpublished work.
  • Provide accurate and reliable research data.
  • Properly acknowledge all sources.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest.
  • Ensure all co-authors approve the submitted manuscript.
  • Cooperate in correcting significant errors when discovered.
Ethical Oversight
Research involving human participants, animals, confidential data, hazardous materials, or sensitive procedures must comply with relevant ethical standards and legal requirements. Authors may be required to provide ethical approval documents and supporting evidence upon request.
Complaints and Appeals
The journal provides a transparent procedure for handling complaints related to editorial decisions, peer review, publication ethics, citation manipulation, and publication misconduct. All complaints are handled according to COPE recommendations.
